Today, operational management of tanah lot tourism object perform Open House activity at management office. Today is the second day of Open House. Open House held start from December 31th, 2007 until January 2nd, 2008. This event held to tuning up commutation of new year 2008. Same activity have done last year but more concern to all of staff from management. But this time, also invite all guide and driver that coincidence bring their guest to Tanah Lot tourism object. And also for all staff from operational management. With doing this event, hope all stuff including guide, driver, and staff can enjoying three days free and tuning up before entering year 2008. And can braiding more familiarity among all staff from operational management. At first day, open house visit by many guide and driver from multifarious travel agent in Bali and outside Bali. They are so happy with the service from Tanah Lot that gave to them. And they hope same activity like this will always perform continually in the next year. Not only do we learn about the Balinese religion from their dance creations but also we can come to understand the flow of cultural events and activities that belong to everyday life. We can discover Balinese attitudes, how they look at nature, and how they regard their fauna and flora. The very essence of the Balinese culture is dance and drama, which is performed during temple festivals and in ceremonies. The dances performed in hotels is a small fraction of what Balinese dance has to offer. |

"Tumpek Uduh", Ceremony for Plants |

Tumpek Uduh ceremony falls on Saturday 29 December 2007, Tumpek Uduh also known as Tumpek Wariga or Tumpek Pengatag devoted to Sanghyang Sangkara, Lord of all food - plants when blessing ceremony is given to them for good crops and products, held at every plantation and farm throughout the island. It is a ritual ceremony dedicated to the vegetations. On that day Balinese Hindu including in Beraban village and almost of balinese people at Tanah Lot too pray to give instruction or suggestion for the vegetation to provide a lot of food (fruits, leaves, etc). It enables the Balinese to make any preparation to hail Galungan Day that will come in a few weeks ahead. It comes once in every six months or every 210 days, suggesting the Balinese to worship God Sangkara the God of Vegetation. It’s a right time to beg the God to give His grace so the vegetation can provide a lot of crops. |
