Religious ceremony in Tanah Lot Temple never end. Like this morning, there is religious ceremony at Segara Kidul Tanah Lot. The religious ceremony named “Ngangkid”. Ngangkid take place in west side of Penyawang Temple (Penghayatan Temple) and in east side of Enjung Galuh Temple. This area often as a place to perform ngangkid ceremony. Ngangkid is part of Manusa Yadnya ceremony, that is Three Month Baby Ceremony, the ceremony for human being after born to the world after magedong-gedongan and mecolongan, in hindus people. The meaning of ngangkid is to required sweeping to the God which is in the sea. Imploringly holy water which its meaning as sweeping of the baby from all coherent dirts in baby's body or named harsh body.
In Hindus lifecycle, each religious ceremony usually have relationship with ocean according to belief with guard of the ocean in hinduis people named Ida Bathara Dalem Sagara or Ratu Tengahing Sagara. In hindus people, baby with age three months year old must have ceremony to requesting safety for their life. Here, baby realized as small bole which swept away to middle of the sea then lifted or "diangkid" from the sea by priest and the parent of baby to continent so that its referred as Ngangkid. After that, baby and the parents will doing some procession, like natab bebantenan and last is praying (manca sembah) to required safety to guard of the ocean. |

You can cross the crater lake below the still active Mount Batur and visit the "Bali Aga" village of Trunyan. Return through traditional villages with stops in Tampaksiring to visit the temple of Tirta Empul, and to visit the Elephant Cave "Goa Gajah", a hermitage from the 11th. century used by both Buddhists and Hindus. |

Tanah Lot Kites Festival 2008 held on September 12th until September 14th, 2007. With brand "Giant Kites Show" and theme "Flying for Peace", this festival followed by 158 kites group (sekaa layangan) and count of kites are 369 kites, that come from local Bali area. Before, on September 12th, 2008, held the opening ceremony that toned up by "Okokan and Tektekan Colosal" with 1500 dancer, there are all art actor from Tabanan regency.
