 Temple anniversary at Tanah Lot Temple already done. Yesterday, on Sunday, September 7, 2008, many beraban society ngaturang ngayah at Tanah Lot Temple. Activity which done last day are cleaning or sweeping all of Tanah Lot Temple areal after piodalan during four day finish like take off all ceremony attribute like banner, penjor, and any other. First activity is ngelukar busana, that is releasing all banner or cloth which is used for ceremony before. All cloth which white and yellow color released and re-neatened to its place initialy.
Besides releasing all cloth which is previous attached at Tanah Lot Temple, Penyawang Temple, Wantilan, Pewaregan (= the kitchen that exist at the temple), entrance gate and other area, second activity is release all penjor which have been attached previously. All penjor that exist at Tanah Lot Temple areal, except penjor that exist at especial entrance. Later, then the penjor cleaned and its bamboo re-kept because still can be used for ceremony that will come. |

 Today, exact with the last holiday of Tanah Lot Temple Ceremony, there is pemelastian at Segara Kidul Tanah Lot on 9 AM. This activity increasing religious athmosphere at Tanah Lot Tourism Object. Melasti or Mekiyis or Melis ceremony is one of the important Balinese Hindu rituals that are held if there are religious activity on the temple or there are a speacial day. The procession of melasti ceremony will started from the center temple of the village where all the god symbols like Keris, Umbul-umbul, harpoon, flag, Pratima (deity idol) and others are collected.
The infinite symbols are brought to the sea to be re-sanctified with the sprinkling seawater that is called with the holy water or Tirta, afterward all of it are brought back to the temple accordingly. These events are very exciting and full of ornaments, decorations and balinese gamelan sound. A coastal have been fulfilled by society that are using its custom clothes with the majority color of white. The vilagers doing pemelastian use vehicle because the distance until Tanah Lot is so far. Arrive at parking area, entourage directly forming pageant and going to Tanah Lot Temple accompanied by balinese gamelan. |

Penyineban Ceremony at Tanah Lot Temple |

 Today, Saturday, September 6, 2008 is the last day to do pray at Tanah Lot Temple or recognized with Penyineban Ceremony. According to Chief Committee of Pengempon Tanah Lot Temple, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, S.P, penyineban ceremony will perform at 12 PM until 2 PM or take place during two hours. But preparation have started at 11 AM. The procession of penyineban ceremony is started with pailenan Ida Bethara Tanah Lot Temple to beji or source of holy water or called Ngebejian Ida Bethara. This procession is to cleaning all symbol of the God which exist at Tanah Lot Temple by wearing a lef of white cloth the pageant go to source of holy water. White cloth symbolise chastity.
After procession at source of holy water done, the pageant go to Penyawang Temple. Reach until Penyawang Temple the pageant greeted with dance balinese woman which have been specified. This dance referred as memendet. Memendet dance depict that, hindus people greet Ida Bethara (=God) after cleaned with gracefull movement and accompanied with bebantenan. They dancing with forming circle and encircle the place of ceremony. All balinese woman which is do memendet bring some canang sari which put into a place called bokoran.

Tanah Lot Temple Ceremony - First Day |

 Today is ceremony for Tanah Lot Temple. Temple ceremony at Tanah Lot Temple executed each every six-month precisely on Buda Wage, Wara Langkir, four days after Kuningan Day, which is fall on September 3-6, 2008. All pemedek or prayer have started do pray start in the morning until nighttime and will take place or nyejer during three days. Thousands of Hindu people which do pray to Tanah Lot Temple come from various area in Sub-Province of Tabanan specially and Bali generally. Pujawali at Tanah Lot Temple start at 8 AM until 11 PM led by Mangku Subagi from Beraban village. But all pemedek have started pray at 4 AM local time early morning. Bustle start seen at 10 AM, and the top will happen at 1 PM until nighttime. Amount of pemedek till now have reached 750 people or about reaching the percentage of 50%.
The situation at Tanah Lot Temple usually fulfilled by pemedek so that they must queuing up first into jeroan (=middle place of the tempel) Tanah Lot Temple to do pray. Before pemedek do pray at jeroan Tanah Lot Temple, pemedek usually do pray at Beji Kaler that exist at Tanah Lot Temple. Beji Kaler is source of holy water that usually used if there is ceremony at Tanah Lot Temple. This pray symbol pemedek do pray to required so that their body and their soul sanctified before do pray hereinafter at Tanah Lot Temple. After pemedek do pray at Beji Kaler then pemedek going to jeroan Tanah Lot Temple. |
