 Tanah Lot Spectacular 2008 have been organized. On September 12 -14, 2008, many kites have show off in Tanah Lot skies. The giant kites with 4 meters in width and almost 10 meters in length join this festival every year. Be-bean (fish), Janggan (bird) and Pecukan (form like woman genital) are the most kites tipe during this kite festival. Janggan form is a special, since it has additional tail that can reach more then 100 meters in length. On September 12, many creation kites group have competited to show their kites beauty. Because beauty of kites, the inovation and creativity are the most important point for new creation kites.
On September 13 - 14, there are traditional kites competition such as bebean, janggan, and pecukan. On two days, amount of kites that have competited are 160 kites on Saturday and 200 kites on Sunday. Many participant from local Bali and also visitor fulfilled the location exact on Sunday. Because Sunday is holiday for all people. Beside local people, many foreigner also come to the location to watch kites festival. Hundreds of participants usually followed Tanah Lot Kites Festival, because Tanah Lot Kites Festival is kites festival with biggest prize compare with other kites festival in Bali.
Plan, Tanah Lot Kites Festival will organize every year in Tanah Lot Tourism Object. Beside kites festival, there will organize culture festival next year. Hope, with the festival, amount of visitor will more increase every year and also as promotion media to Tabanan regency. Beside of that, with organize culture festival, the balinese culture keep exist and not forgetted expecially for youth generation. Announcement of Tanah Lot Kites Festival winner will be announced on the September 17, 2008 in some daily newspaper in Bali. And winners can take the present at Tanah Lot Tourism Object office at parking area after September 17, 2008. |
