Religious Ceremony at Melanting Temple |

 Today, will perform temple anniversary at Melanting Temple Tanah Lot. Melanting Temple include to part of functional temple. Functional Temples have special characteristic of which the people (the caretaker of the temple) are those who have the same professional for their living such as: farmer, trader and fisherman. For Balinese people who have professional as trader in the community, they have bound temple called Melanting Temple that is commonly built at the market where sale and purchase transaction happens. Ceremony at Melanting Temple Tanah Lot will take place on evening about 7 PM. All staff from operational management of Tanah Lot Tourism Object and all merchant will do pray. Most woman will bring some offerings to devote to the God. The offerings consist of canang sari, punjung with various fruits, and kwangen as medium to pray. Praying will start with puja tri sandhya and continue with muspa. First, prayer pray with empty hand called "puyung". After that continued with use some flower with red and white color called "muspa", and then use kwangen which consist of some flower with multivarious color, and there is money above the flower called "sesari". Pray with kwangen is part of muspa. The last is pray with empty hand again to say thanks to the God of fluency and amenity which have been given.
After praying was done, then continued with nunas tirtha or holy water and bija or holy seed from the priest. Holy water and holy seed as symbol of award from the God to the hindus people. The holy water will spattered on counted four times to prayer. The first until third, holy water is drinked by prayer as symbol as cleaning the soul. But the fourth one is wash to the face as symbol as cleaning body. Last, nunas holy seed and put the holy seed at three piece of eyebrow, at neck and the last one at above of head. |
