The Bhagavad Gita literally meaning The Song of the Bhagavan, often referred to as simply the Gita, is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The Gita is set in a narrative framework of a dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide and charioteer the god-king Krishna. The Bhagavad Gita presents a synthesis of the Brahmanical concept of Dharma, theistic bhakti, the yogic ideals of moksha through jnana, bhakti, karma, and Raja Yoga (spoken of in the 6th chapter), and Samkhya philosophy.
And for the first time, in order to commemorating the 521 anniversary of Tabanan, will held an event “Chanting 700++ slokas of Bhagavad Gita by 6000 peoples together” at Tanah Lot Temple, Sunday November 23th, 2014 starts from 3 PM onward. This event will be international issue and first time in the world. The MURI’s record of Bhagavad Gita will establish that Tabanan as the first Veda’s district in Bali.
Tabanan regency which became taksu for bali considered most suitable to held this activity. “Chanting 700++ of Bhagavad Gita by 6000 people together” will give a very positive vibrations for the nature of Bali and raise awareness to study the Bhagavad Gita and strengthen the Hindu character. Especially for young people to building strength, courage, success, and inspire love for the nation, the state, religion and humanity.
