Today is special day for hindu people in Tanah Lot. Anggara Kasih, also known as Anggara Kliwon, is a reocccuring, auspicious cleansing day for the mind of the individual family members and for the physical world and all creatures that inhabit it. In Beraban village Tanah Lot, all society doing religious activity that is "ngerainin" in hinduism culture and "ngodalin" in each household. Some of balinese and javanese people assuming Anggara Kasih day is a sakral day.  According to javanese folkfore, at anggara kasih day we may not travelling.  And some of balinese people said, at anggara kasih, Bethara Siwa (God of Siwa) go down to earth.

When anggara kasih, all of balinese people submitting offerings to the God to required safety and healthy life. At Anggara Kliwon the Balinese Hindus meditate and pray to Dewa Ludra for support to cleanse one's mind and the physical world in which one is reincarnated. The following offerings are offered to Dewa Ludra, a canang reresik wangi-wangian, a canang puspa wangi-wangian, menyan astangi, asap harum.

Afterwards a special ceremony called metirtha gocara is held which is performed with a canang offering and wangi-wangian, sweet smelling incense and flowers at the sangga of the family temple and the plankiran (wall temple) of the bedroom.  Anggara Kliwon occurs every 35 days when the day 'Anggara' (Tuesday) of the 7-day week (Saptawara) of the Balinese pawukon calendar system coincidences with the day 'Kliwon' of the 5-day week (Pancaware).
